INOWISE.IO and IP500 Join Forces for Smart Building Pilot Projects
INOWISE.IO is a powerful platform designed to connect, monitor, and analyze sensor data in real time—making buildings smarter, more efficient, and easier to manage. IP500, on the other hand, is a global wireless communication standard that enables secure and interoperable sensor networks for smart buildings, ensuring reliable data flow across a wide range of devices. Together, they’re setting the stage for the next generation of intelligent building management.
As a first step in their collaboration, several IP500-based sensors—including radar and temperature sensors—have been installed in an office building and connected to the INOWISE.IO platform. This setup allows for advanced monitoring and control, specifically aimed at building management applications. One of the key test cases is a university environment with ten buildings and around 5,000 rooms—highlighting the potential for large-scale deployment.
Smarter Management, Less Guesswork
The joint project focuses on solving some of the most pressing challenges in modern building operations:
- Instant fault detection: Quickly identify when a sensor fails or goes offline.
- Secure firmware and certificate management: Keep devices updated and compliant without manual intervention.
- Automated reporting: Generate monthly reports to demonstrate network functionality—crucial for both operators and regulatory authorities.
- System reliability: Ensure the wireless network is always present, functional, and easy to audit.
These features are essential for any facility looking to scale smart infrastructure while meeting high standards of safety, performance, and compliance.
From Testing to Real-World Impact
The project is currently in its testing phase, starting with a compact yet fully functional IP500 network at the Inovum office:
Step 1: Installation of 1 x IP500 GW360 gateway and 3 different sensor types:
- 1 x Lux (light) sensor
- 1 x under-wall sensor
- 1 x radar multisensor
Step 2: Building a prototype platform using INOWISE.IO to visualize, manage, and analyze sensor data from the test network.
Step 3: Expanding this prototype into a full-featured platform for real-world pilot projects—targeting universities, public institutions, and large commercial properties.

Looking Ahead: A Smarter Roadmap
The long-term vision is clear: create a user-friendly maintenance and control layer for complex IP500 sensor networks. This will not only streamline building operations but also open the door for future integrations such as:
- Energy consumption analysis
- Fire safety and smoke extraction systems
- Modular add-ons for specialized use cases
With INOWISE.IO as the intelligent backbone and IP500 as the secure wireless standard, this partnership is setting a new benchmark for how buildings are managed, maintained, and made smarter—from the ground up.
